T'is the Season of Goodwill, Love, Peace and Hope

It is every mother's dream to have her family together during any special occasions and especially so for me, during Christmas time.

I truly enjoyed having my sons and their families gathering around the dining table and enjoying the usual, if not almost similar food prepared for Christmas eve, like roasted pork, curried chicken, dark soy-sauced stewed duck, broiled mixed vegetable, deserts such as chilled mixed-fruit salad, ice-cream jelly and Christmas pudding. The main course comes with buttered rice or "nasi briyani". Also not forgetting the red wine, cold beer, fizzy and cordial soft drinks and of course the traditional rice wine!
This year round, Christmas celebration will be different. It will be the first Christmas that my family will not have one of my DILs around (she has decided to be at her parent's home), eldest son Bills Callaghan is currently offshore and his family (my 2nd DIL Tracy and youngest grandkid Trevor) has just left for Kuching and celebrate the season with relatives living there. My other two older grandkids, Nigel and Nicole and their father Ted (my 2nd son) will be with me.
Though my dad passed away 3 years ago, we will still have four generations at the table, aged from three plus to sixty-eight. I'm sure it'll still be noisy!

Christmas is a time for goodwill, love, peace and hope to all. Let's not forget the true meaning of Christmas, which is to celebrate the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ. He is the reason for the season.

Whatever way you choose to spend the season, may it be a happy time and may the New Year brings you untold joy too.

For unto us a Child is born,
Unto us a Son is given;
And the government will
Be upon His shoulder.
And His name will be called
Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God.
Everlasting Father,
Prince of Peace.
Isiah 9:6
